NAIC Head Talks Tech Benefits, Climate Risks For Insurers

Insurance regulators will be tackling a slew of emerging issues this year, including insurers’ use of blockchain and big data in underwriting, the impact of climate change, challenges with insuring cannabis companies and efforts to stabilize the market for long-term care coverage.

In an interview, National Association of Insurance Commissioners President Eric Cioppa, who also serves as Maine’s insurance superintendent, discusses some of the organization’s key initiatives for 2019.
