Investors pumped $2.238 billion into insurtech enterprises through a record number of deals worldwide last year, according to San Francisco investment bank Financial Technology Partners.
While the number of deals climbed 27 percent to 203, the financing volume fell 17 percent from 2016, when the total reached $2.693 billion, FT Partners said in a recent report. That was down slightly from a record $2.750 billion raised in 2015.
